A former employee of a co-op food store has traded in his boring uniform for something slightly less restricting. DeWet Du Toit now wears a loin cloth much like his hero Tarzan and has traded in his job for a lifestyle much like the jungle runner's.

He now lives in George, South Africa with his parents and spends all his time adapting his mind, body and soul to the harsh and unforgiving world of the African jungle and bush. 3 days a week DeWet spends outside, at one with all types of nature. He says his best friend is an elephant called Shaka and that he spends more time with zebras, crocodiles and monkeys than he does with human beings.

DeWet or DeTarzan as we are going to call him from now on even swings through trees like his favourite fictional character and isn't afraid of swimming through a dirty river or two. He trains hard to be fit enough to survive in the jungle and often runs up the surrounding mountains to keep in shape. At night he has to set platforms up in trees to keep away from the snakes and leopards that may not be so keen on him sharing their territory...
