A former employee of a co-op food store has traded in his boring uniform for something slightly less restricting. DeWet Du Toit now wears a loin cloth much like his hero Tarzan and has traded in his job for a lifestyle much like the jungle runner's.
He now lives in George, South Africa with his parents and spends all his time adapting his mind, body and soul to the harsh and unforgiving world of the African jungle and bush. 3 days a week DeWet spends outside, at one with all types of nature. He says his best friend is an elephant called Shaka and that he spends more time with zebras, crocodiles and monkeys than he does with human beings.
DeWet or DeTarzan as we are going to call him from now on even swings through trees like his favourite fictional character and isn't afraid of swimming through a dirty river or two. He trains hard to be fit enough to survive in the jungle and often runs up the surrounding mountains to keep in shape. At night he has to set platforms up in trees to keep away from the snakes and leopards that may not be so keen on him sharing their territory.
DeTarzan appears to be completely happy with his life and doesn't feel the need to work as he would quite happily live off the jungle much like his friends. There is one thing that makes DeTarzan a little sad however, he gets a bit lonely out there all by himself. From what I have read he would sacrifice his dodgy mullet to be accompanied by a jungle Jane type and keep him cosy under the nights stars. After all the Tarzan outfits do not look particularly warm and spooning with an elephant is pretty dangerous.
DeTarzan first became obsessed with Tarzan when he lived in Namibia where his father was a Tarzan comic book collector. He hopes that one day a Hollywood director will cast him as the lead in a new Tarzan movie and all his dreams will be realised. He is already becoming rather well known, I have heard him being interviewed on two radio stations this week and he has also been invited to a Tarzan convention in the USA. We may have to watch this story as it develops further.
If you, like DeTarzan, are a fan of the jungle warrior then you may want to dress up as him for the next fancy dress party you are going to. You may not, however, wish to devote your life to getting the same body as him. Never fear, Simply Fancy Dress is here and we have got a fantastic Tarzan fancy dress costume for you that gives you the body of a tree swinger instantly.
The Tarzan outfit includes a skin coloured muscle top with attached leopard print pants, matching muscle trousers, wig and rubber knife. We do warn you that whilst wearing this Tarzan costume it has been reported that elephants approach and often try to become your best friend.
If you, unlike DeTarzan, have a lady friend looking to keep you company despite only wearing a filthy loin cloth then the Jungle Jane Cave Girl Costume should suit them down to the ground. This costume features a tiger print headband, matching ripped effect skirt, tied top and belt with dagger.
The two outfits together make the perfect Tarzan couples costumes and will have you up there in the running for any fancy dress competition. If you are looking to add to the group fancy dress then the remaining people can all dress in animal costumes as Tarzan's jungle friends. The Monkey costume and the Elephant costume are perfect and both further examples of brilliant cheap fancy dress costumes available for less than £30 at Simply Fancy Dress.
